St. Alban's Christian Learning Center

February Happenings!

Though February is a short month, it is also a very busy month here at St. Alban's.  February's theme is "Let's Learn about Dinosaurs".  There will be different activities and projects that will help the children learn all about dinosaurs.  They will also be learning about the numbers 13 & 14, the color pink, the shape of a heart, and the letters O, P & Q.

We have a lot of fun songs/rhymes/songs for the children to learn:  "Jack Be Nimble", "Hey Diddle, Diddle", "Rub-a-Dub-Dub", The Princess and the Pea and Danny and the Dinosaur.

We will also be focusing on the opposite over/under, Dental Health, and the holidays that are in February:  Groundhog's Day, Valentine's Day, President's Day, Mardi Gras, and Ash Wednesday. 

The children will be having a Valentine's Day party on Tuesday, February 14th and will exchange Valentines with all of their friends.

On Friday, February 17th, we will be having "Pajama Day" here!  The children may come to school dressed in their favorite pajamas!  We will also have breakfast for snack--pancakes--to celebrate the letter of the week, "P"!

Finally, on Friday, February 17th at 10:00am, we will have one of our children's parents, Shelby Taney, come to our Center to talk with the children about her job as a nurse at the Reading Hospital.  This is our "In-House" field trip for the month.

The Learning Center has expanded it's hours!  We will now be open from 6:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday.  We hope this will help out families who's parents need to start work by 7:00am.
